I am a Setian. What does that mean? Well, I think it would be far more enlightening for you to allow your curiosity to get the best of you and to go out and discover what that means. After all, it is better to form your own informed opinions rather than to take someone else’s word for it. Suffice it to say that one of the character traits I developed being Setian is that in life I believe in taking responsibility for myself. A second trait is that armchair anything gets you nowhere.
So, what about me? Boring stuff: I am a software developer and I specialize in Microsoft technologies. Yes, that big evil corporate monster. But, hey, it puts food on the table and a roof over my head. Which is good because in my neck of the woods it snows. A lot. I have a family. I spend too much time social networking. I love to read. I read diversely, though my fiction tends toward the fantasy, horror, thriller genres. I like Dean Koontz, Jim Butcher, H. P. Lovecraft, Brom, and Jonathan Howard, for example. I have a fascination with stage magic, particularly mentalism and the psychology that makes it possible. I love reading about neuropsychology because I like to know what makes us tick.
I am an occultist. Whatever that means to you. It informs who I am, but what I think it means is surely different than what you think and that’s fine. I collect all sorts of occult material because I am very interested in the current structure of occult thinking and how it has evolved over history. It doesn’t sound terribly magical, but there you are.
Finally, I am a transgender female. Yep. Born in the wrong body and have suffered decades of cognitive dissonance because of it. If this idea is anathema to you, it is time you took a good hard look at the world. Honey, it isn’t black and white.
What is the purpose of doing this? Well, this is a selfish move. It is a record of my journey. Something I can point to and say, "I was here." It is my own, subtle way to say, "buck up, girl. You said you would do this. You said it in public!"
If you managed to read through all that without falling asleep, cursing, vomit, or feeling like you need a shower, congratulations! Maybe you will find something here to broaden your mind.
